Wrap up warm this winter and explore the great outdoors with some of our favourite countryside strolls. Whether you prefer challenging hilly hikes or perfectly flat footpaths, these National Trust trails will put a pep in your step! From woodland to historical, coastal to circular there’s something for everyone.
With the frost shimmering under a pale winter sun, don cosy clothing and sturdy boots to take in majestic rolling hills and spectacular seascapes dotted with inquisitive animals and native plants. Even if the weather isn’t amounting to much, winter walks are the perfect way to invigorate and inspire…and the perfect excuse for a rewarding (headily topped!) hot chocolate. TARN HOWS, CUMBRIA:
An easy, two mile circular walk that’s suitable for all the family, including four legged friends.
St DAVID'S HEAD, PEMBROKESHIRE:
With its majestic, all-encompassing views, this moderately rugged coastal walk takes just over an hour.
ATTINGHAM PARK, SHREWSBURY:
Discover deer, bee houses and ponds teaming with wildlife in this circular walk of two and a half miles.
FORWARD POINT, DARTMOUTH:
An interesting three mile walk of about an hour that combines spectacular coastline views with historical elements.
