Safar is an exquisite new design, inspired by an African baule cloth found in the archive. A complex design, the ikat warp has been printed with embroidery added. Adding to Safar's unique nature, the yarns are screen printed before being woven into the weft and then embroidered, creating a wonderfully detailed design where the intricate yarn-dying technique comes through beautifully.
